Re Tadpole, found this Rip it Up Gig Guide in the library collection which shows Tadpole doing concerts at a bunch of Auckland high schools in 1998. So at least I know that was real. paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/periodicals/...

I don't think this is a big "we go to war" moment. This isn't a sign that the Government is about to announce a referendum. Seems to me that officials have been instructed to prepare in case we reach this point, not that this is now more likely than it was a week ago.
