When we are there I sometimes remind myself that it's one of the most famous gardens in the world and I realise how fortunate we are to live so close have a membership so can visit as often as we like. It's quite magical, what a creation it is/was!

Just been reading an article about a race from Marble Arch to Arc de Triumph in 60 minutes. The winning g time was 1 hour 1 minute & 16 secs. But that was in 1959. I really don't believe there were any 'good old days' but sometimes you wonder.
