I feel like the production on 1989 is super inconsistent. Like Shake it Off and Welcome to New York sound...not cheap, but like they're knockoffs of pop music. Meanwhile Style and Wildest Dreams sound like they came from the late 70s / early 80s where it felt like producers had infinite money.

Actually I think I have an even better alternative: "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" by James Brown.

Why that one in particular? I would think something like Swanee by Al Jolson or Alexander's Ragtime Band if we're going with pre-WWII music
