At the Science Festival in Genova (www.festivalscienza.it/programma-20...) to discuss the intertwining of science and values in medicine, with a @philhead.bsky.social roundtable with me, Cristina Amoretti, Paolo Vineis, Maria Frega.

Pretty nice to bring philosophy of science to a science festival!

Great session on precision medicine with @simonlohse.bsky.social and great conference @ishpssb2025.bsky.social – so many notes and papers to go through, enough for the rest of the summer and more.

Ending the week with a treat, @sabinaleonelli.bsky.social in Milano, giving a talk at Bocconi University! And look, from the room you could see Torre Velasca (the best building in Milan) and the Duomo (if you squint).

Nice crowd at my talk today at the Centre for gender studies @unisr.bsky.social, where I presented my and Chris Hesselbein’s work on digital health tech for women’s health (#femtech) and its epistemic and political limitations – more here: doi.org/10.1007/978-...

Back to the office today at Politecnico, and I had a nice parcel waiting for me – the new Routledge Handbook of Causality and Causal Methods, with my and @emratti.bsky.social chapter on big data for causal inference and competing views on quantity and quality of data.

The workshop takes place at the physics university museum and we're surrounded by magnificent and eery scientific objects and paintings – a typical Neapolitan experience, with echoes of Sorrentino's movies.

Back in my German home this week for the final event of my beloved graduate school "Integrating Ethics and Epistemology of Scientific Research" (grk2073.org) – lovely to reconnect with so many friends and present current work that hopefully carries forward lessons learnt during my PhD.

I guess it only makes sense that I received my copies of the book the same day of a scheduled blood donation, so I can think about the book in the hospital that looks over my favourite building in Milan (Torre Velasca).

Nice discussion today on big data, scientific revolutions, and implications for economics with @sabinaleonelli.bsky.social and myself too, at sunny Politecnico Bovisa campus.
