Seeing this happen a lot, though: deployment details creeping into a logical view of a system, clouding (pun intended) abstract reasoning about that system. Often in the earliest design/analysis phase already: “and here we’ll have a Lambda…”. A misconception of what “cloud-native” is about imo.

Re-read in this evening and what especially rings true is the observation that “the tools we train ourselves to use and in this respect programming languages […] shape our thinking habits”.
