Well, it's against international law, but Russia is doing it currently in Ukraine and Israel has been doing it since their existence. Both of these without any real consequences. That's just two examples. With how toothless the international bodies are it's really more a suggestion than a law.

It's a bad budget for the average person in the country. Start taxing the ultra rich more or focus on the SARS backlog of 800 billion. They need to stop targeting the vulnerable people and benefiting the ultra rich.

It is clear they have no idea what they actually want, because this is just a thing they are doing to try and show power.
Reality is they need to focus on other allies to make trade deals with, because even if this current US administration signs a deal they could just renege on it the next day.
