Look, I know Olivia Nuzzi's style isn't for everyone, but this passage sent literal chills down my spine.
An excerpt from a book that says: "The waiter said, “We have a rule here that if you order the fully loaded nacho’s to share - one person can’t take the ones with all the meat and stuff.” I knew it was all an act, something he thought up. I winced when he pretended he hadn’t put the waiter up to it. “What, say that again?” he said in mock disbelief. The waiter repeated this “rule” the restaurant supposedly had. “What? I’ve never heard anything like that before, that is so weird, but I guess, like, if that’s a rule then-” He turned to me with an innocent shrug. Others thought he was a madman; he was not quite mad the way they thought, but I loved the private ways that he was mad."
