Helt enig!

If, later down the line, they could do either a separate train or coach groups to Copenhagen however, that would be massive. Everyone asks about night trains from Scandinavia to Paris. Given some more resources and things working out to get there, that wouldn’t be operationally impossible, right?

There’s a growing ”train vacation” trend in all Scandinavian countries. New connections through Denmark and onwards onto the continent, both day and night, have been added in recent years and places fill up very fast in mid to high season. So north should not be an issue in terms of demand :)

@kristianaas.bsky.social Maybe Norway wants to join as well? :)

Ah, thanks for the inside knowledge! ČD has published anyway, but not including Leo Express nor RegioJet.

To be fair, it’s a good source to quote!

Thanks! That sucks. Us Swedes have been ecstatic over this after our own subsidies vaporised, while all subsidised and non-subsidised night trains have performed well over expectations the past years. I guess Swedes don’t help the argument in the Swiss parliament though. Fingers crossed from here!

Nooooo!!

For someone not knowledgable on Swiss political structure, how final is this? Is it more of an ongoing negotiation or is this the final proposal of the budget that will likely be decided with these changes..?

S3 has a OSDM connector for selling content which I assume is what DB uses now that DB supports the role as a OSDM retailer. Not sure if S3 has retailer role built in (I could imagine that not being part of the inventory but rather on the sales front end on top – so SNCF Connect needs to build it).

They could potentially have done a compatibility layer between new and old systems. That’s the closest I could technically think of. But then they would have had to have that as part of the planning way ahead of the date of migration. Seems to me like they planned for OSDM with no plan B.

From what I heard about the tickets before, I assume they were classic CIV tickets i.e. issued through Hermes. There exists no white label systems for that. The spiritual successor is OSDM which is only barely in place now. Bad planning indeed, but a temporary solution is unlikely to be simple/easy.

Oh that’s very interesting. Thanks! I’ll have to dig into which reservation system it will be handled by then. And interesting to see how the branding will look!
September 13, 2025 at 9:31 AM
So exciting! Does this mean that it’s in fact not going to be a Nightjet branded train..? Or is this temporary data to some extent, if you know? 🧐

I’ll mention, for Swedish speakers who also are on Facebook:

We invite you to our newly started community group. It’s a space for sharing experiences, tips and inspiration with fellow travellers who believe the journey matters as much as the destination.
