100%. And as a result it will always be unfair on Arne that he's not Klopp. But on the other hand, when you've been led by such a special man, it's hard not to expect it again. I think I'm only truly starting to miss that era and see how once-in-a-lifetime it was. I hope it's not!

I think ultimately I just miss the klopp-style leader if I'm being honest. I remember telling some of my rival-club mates that even if we got relegated I wouldn't sack klopp. Why did we feel that strongly about him? You could write an essay about it. We'll never have that with Slot and that sucks

Yeah I get you. It has been awful with so many things going wrong. If he stays it will be a long road back for me. I remember feeling embarrassed standing inside Anfield after PSV, a few days after receiving that heavy beating from NFFC. That feeling of "this just isn't good enough for Liverpool".
February 14, 2026 at 11:09 PM
It's easy to forget how bad it got, and how we saw weeks and weeks and weeks of the same old crap, with nothing changing. I think he's been stubborn, unwilling to trust his squad, he's shown poor man management and he's not at all inspiring in his communication. Just my assessment 🤷‍♂️

100%

Yeah absolutely. And it seems to be Madrid's preferred way of getting players. No transfer free so give them massive wages and huge sign on bonus. Why would Szobo re-sign with us when he could get his 300K a week, a massive multi-million pound chunk and play for Madrid?!
February 14, 2026 at 3:27 PM
I've already resigned myself to him running his contract down and going there. I'm not sure if you read some quotes from him about it a few weeks back but they sounded exactly how Trent used to talk or how Konate talks. Very much "I'd like to stay but it's not down to me"

"denial of a goalscoring opportunity"..which ends in a goal. So it wasn't a denial of the goalscoring opportunity?

Stop playing Salah for one. Absolutely messes up every chance he gets, sick of that.

My mortgage lenders are ruining me, if only they would remove the stipulation to pay them back over a commodity I took from them and agreed to pay them back for

There's a week break after our fixture next weekend. Watch this space 👀

Why are Liverpool top when they have less xPts than arsenal
January 17, 2026 at 8:28 PM
Remember the mentality monsters. I remember taking that a bit for granted but now I remember how much Klopp used to talk about it and how proud he was of it. Evidently not something easy to have!

I guess we'll see 😂

December 31, 2025 at 2:24 PM
Yeah absolutely! And if we finally hired a competent set piece coach and gave them time on the training ground, we'd see big improvements, for sure! We literally used to keep a "set piece" leave table at FCM, and it was our goal to always be top - that's how much it was prioritised.
December 31, 2025 at 2:24 PM
but that takes time and investment on the training ground. Maybe as hinted at today, that's not being given or prioritised by the coaching staff. That's where I would start anyway, but only someone with clear ideas, methods and confidence can come in and change things quickly.

Of the ball you can suffer because other teams suffocate and target your man.

As I was saying, there's so many moving parts - and I think we have been trying too much and changing it too often. So you're right - we need to get consistent basics right,
December 31, 2025 at 2:11 PM
But to answer in some way, I think you can overcomplicate things. For example, you could try to change it up every week depending on the opposition, and as a result there's too many ideas and moves, and players aren't really getting good at anything. Then, when you have one of the best headers

Ha well actually I'm not an expert unfortunately - I was only there for one season (it's actually a cool story how you can get into football as a normal person), but I decided the craziness of football life wasn't for me and finished up.
December 31, 2025 at 2:06 PM
That's the thing with set pieces though - the theory is so easy. In theory, if you did everything right, you would score a corner every time. But getting all those things right consistently is not easy (I worked as a first team set piece analyst for FC Midtjylland, so I've known the pain!)
December 31, 2025 at 1:56 PM
You make it sound too simple. As you've rightly said elsewhere, modern day football requires specialists in this area. So much going on..timing, movement, blocks. Jovier has been at AFC for years now - it looks simple because they've worked hard at it for a long time.
December 31, 2025 at 1:50 PM
The thing is, Pep went on to spend multiple hundreds of millions to change things up. Can/will we do that again?
November 26, 2025 at 10:51 PM
Yes, that sounds fair enough. A big ask! I reckon if they get a few of the other names their linked with they could hit that together.
