Boeing’s NGAD is now the F-47, a name not new as it was used when the WW2-era P-47 Thunderbolt served under the newly formed USAF in 1947. CSAF says it honors the P-47’s legacy, the Air Force’s founding year, and the 47th President's support for NGAD.

Boeing took part in the competition for the Joint Strike Fighter with the X-32 against Lockheed Martin with the X-35, although it wasn't successful. The two companies now had a rematch with the Next Generation Air Dominance, and this time Boeing and its F-47 design won the competition.

In 2022 I finally got to see Aviano's F-16s and the 555th FS putting up a show, blasting off the runway in full afterburner and then going up in an untestricted climb. Looking forward to the next time I'll be able to see them

The CL-415 is always a welcomed presence over large fires. It can refill its tanks with 7,000 liters of seawater in just 14 seconds, quickly returning back to work.
Huge props to the pilots who fly them, their work is one of the most dangerous but still fundamental in situations like the LA fires.

The seat cover is actually for both seat and LAD screen, a protection from the heat when the jet is parked under the sun. I never saw the tape on the wing, not sure if related to maintenance.
