Sad to hear about the passing of cricketing legend Dickie Bird. I often used to have a cuppa with him at Barnsley Town Hall and I was pleased to be able to do an oral history interview with him about ten years ago. Rest in peace Dickie.

Pleased to have taken in the Mel Dyke Archive this week for the collections of @BarnsArchives. A great collection which highlights just how much she did for culture and heritage in Barnsley. But sad at the same time because she's no longer with us. Rip Mel. Always remembered.

Great to be in Darfield today for one of our pop up archives events at Darfield Library. I took the opportunity to have a look at Darfield Church and the grave of poet Ebenezer Elliott.
