I think I could have got the job without it, but I wouldn't have been able to de-risk his decision to take a self-taught dev at top asking salary without being able to demonstrate competence (not relying on chat gpt) thinking about high, mid and low level system design concepts on streams.

When I applied for a role I was super excited about, I got through the initial interview by demonstrating good vibes. At the technical interview, the hiring manager said he already knew I could code and think through things because he already watched my YouTube videos.

I did that streaming thing for a few weeks while I was looking for work, and eventually I picked up a contract with a project that would be memorable for all the wrong reasons, and cause me to start interviewing again soon after starting.
