Hey @jesawyer.bsky.social— first time long time. I’m on my 800th playthrough of Deadfire and I’m going nuts because the three Rathun ships (Dreksûd, Falsûd, Grísundr) have names that don’t have a clear analogue in the Cyclopedia. Rathun language is sort of Norse/Gaulish? Help a poor captain out

Though not my favorite of his stories per se, I don’t think Lovecraft ever wrote a scarier story than “The Temple.” Scared the piss outta me the first time I read it. The imagery of seeing his commander swimming in the dark outside the porthole…ye gods
