If anyone has got it to work and keen to share some sneaky tips, this wannabe mechanic would be immeasurably pleased.

Wait, wrong movie. Oooooo this will be my Friday night I fear. I'm off to research.

To be fair to myself there is a Merc chase scene in this movie, but they're w123's.

Okay this will sound weird, but there is a John Belushi movie called K9 that features a chase scene with a bunch of black w124's; it was that scene that sent me on my 124 Mercedes obsession - I'm scared to re-watch it, in case it's shit. I was about 8, so it likely was pretty shit. :)

s124 is somewhat of a dream car to me.

I wanted one of these sooooooo bad. Wound up back in Volvo territory though, as regrettably I couldn't find "the right one" on the used car market. I test drove two and both had been trashed :(

It looks reallllly fricken bad-ass. Great cover shot!

Smokes for everyone! Suck 'em down fellas, no need to pass 'round the lighter; you've each got your own... tonight we live like KINGS.

I think they got a lot right with the design, the front proportions and stance is aggressive yet still friendly. I found the seating position of Falcons to be too tall for my liking, I always felt like I was up too high or the seating was too "sensible" when I preferred to be in gokart mode

My Grandfather had one of these in '88(?), it had a digital speedometer which to an 8 year old was a wiiiiild bit of tech. I got to sit in the front passenger seat and felt like a million bucks. Also, I've never noticed the squished read doors before, now I can't un-see it 😅

I never really noticed it before, but the Taurus is strikingly similar to the EL Ford Falcon that was built and sold in Australia. Makes sense that it is, but never really noticed it.

Thank you, I needed this today! I can't do everything, just my best.

If it's on GM, probably snaps in two.

I really need to learn my hashtags. I honestly thought gutters referred to roof drainage. Thank goodness it doesn't, just quietly.

America's sense of showmanship is second to none. No one does it better.
January 20, 2025 at 3:07 AM
That's crazy! Why bother buying something like this if it can't even clear a speed-hump!?
January 20, 2025 at 1:33 AM
Same - the only place I've ever watched a TikTok video is on Youtube Shorts hahahaha

But I was born in '80. I'll move on now.

There's never been a more suitable looking adventure vehicle. It looks like it could drive up a lighthouse!

We hired one on a recent trip to Uluru in Australia's Northern Territory, and it was the perfect car for the job. So tough and simple (but so cute!).

Yeah I thought close encounters was shit, too. So glad I'm not the only one who isn't blindly blowing smoke up Spielberg's arse. 😂
