I am familiar with Soma Mukhopadhyay, mentioned in this article, her work with her son, and the creation of RPM. I remain very skeptical.

I believe part of this article is referring to his old school. There was a teacher who used FC where a child accused another student of sexual assault. The head of related services who.specialized in speech language pathology had a lot of misgivings regarding FC as a result she left the school.

I live in New Jersey and my son attended a private school starting at five years old. I moved him out of that school when he was 10. Part of the reason was because of the use of FC. My son is non-verbal, has an intellectual disability, autism and a motor planning deficit.

Ridiculous. My no-verbal son has no such thing. It sounds similar to facilitated Communication (FC) using a facilitator supporting a hand to help someone with a disability type on a keyboard or other device. Many believe this works. When in fact, the facilitator is the one doing the typing.

I’m worried about my intellectually and physically challenged, non-verbal, autistic 21 year old adult son. Share our stories. What will happen to his supports, social security and Medicaid? Will he have the funding he needs to live? How can Democratic leaders help to protect him?

Right? Every day another text or email wanting a donation. It seems if you donate once, you’re in everyone’s list.
