Cold, just do not see Jimmy as the best fit in terms of an all in move

Would rather find a good 3 and D big wing for around smart’s salary to best support big 3

But it is a fun idea, I can see the logic is some fitting Butler with Grizz

12 of the Grizz next 14 games are vs the top 12 teams in the West, including 11 straight from 12/29 to 1/20

Only two teams we do not play are Lakers and Nuggets in top 12

8 of 12 games are on road

Where Grizz truly stand in terms of playoff success will show over next month

Grizzlies 2-5 in games decided by single digits. They get rolling and win big a lot, but they're still figuring themselves out in tight games. Disappointing finish, but that game will do them good.

For me, this is a winning offensive formula against good teams and for playoff success:

115+ points
25+ assists
13+ 3s
35% or better from 3

Does this year’s Grizzlies seem more capable of hitting this standard frequently vs good competition than past versions?

I think so

There are a lot of conversations that people should be having about Jaren Jackson Jr this season.

All-Star

Most Improved

Top 3 DPOY

All-NBA

Each one of them is a fair conversation to be having about his season so far with the way he is playing.

When JJJ and Bane are on court together, Grizz are 13-68 from 3 (19%).

And if your reaction is take more 2s, 66.4% of Grizz shots taken are 2s when they share court, which is highest among NBA duos that play 15+ min together per game.

Grizz must make more 3s w/ this duo

Grizzlies are shooting just 30.7% from
3 w/JJJ on court this year, despite JJJ himself making 39% from 3 on 5 3PAs a game.

Yet MEM still +17.8 pts per 100 poss better than OPP when JJJ on court this year.

Imagine if we can just get to 35% w/JJJ, need Bane back badly

Cannot allow a 35-point triple double to Lebron and 20 3s in same game and expect to win, but plenty to like from Grizzlies last night.

Santi and Edey stepped up with BC out (who defense the Grizz badly missed).

Smart and Kennard did well off bench, an all around good performance for Grizz.

I choose to credit the addition/loss of Kyle Anderson for the divergent performances of the Warriors and Wolves to start the season. KAFKA Forever.
