The distributed (or "virtual") power plant — i.e. a series of home solar batteries linked to the grid — helped reduce energy demand considerably during what are typically the peak hours.

Total emissions fell in California by 2.4% from 2021 to 2022.
In other words, we have hard science that shows state's emissions-cutting strategies are working—and we could do much more to reach our goals faster. But Trump's plans put this progress in jeopardy.
