Playing around with screentone textures again… if anyone had any they like to use, let me know! I’m trying to narrow down my favorites.

Marina is a cis girl, and a lesbian! Homosexuality is not a big deal Lana and she’s the literal Queen, so nobody can say anything anyway.
As she gets older, there will be attempts to arrange a marriage, but she’s got her eyes on a certain, off-planet performer…

Caldor is a cis man, and gay. On his planet of Lana, its not a big deal. Most of the court had more of a problem with him getting engaged to a redheaded pirate than with his fiancé being a man.
He’s also the queen’s brother, so not many have the authority to complain.

Chase/Astrid is a demigirl, and struggles with it. She WISHES she felt more feminine more often, but simply does not, and honestly isn’t super happy about it.
She’s greysexual and way less concerned about that. As to WHO she likes, in her words:
“-shrug- I liked a boy, once.”

Arden is a transgender male, but will never admit it. He’s a MAN, he’s ALWAYS been a man, he’ll ALWAYS BE A MAN—
Arden has some severe PTSD going on, stemming from his time at a hardcore, religious, gay conversion camp that ended in literal blood.
He’s… working on it.

Kai’s Japanese, and uses Watashi most of the time, though switch to Ore when they get flustered. When I’m writing them, I use They/Them for inner narration, and then masc/fem pronouns for their physical actions, depending on how they’re presenting that day.

Kai is AFAB and Genderfluid, but is a guy most of the time. They occasionally have rare “girl days.”
Any gender/sex is on the table for them romantically/sexually, but they probably have an unconscious preference for people with similar gender situations/androgynous presentations.

Cerise is AFAB and uses she/her pronouns, for now.
While she doesn’t have the same difficulties as her brother, she is in a similar boat: She’s 17, emotional, and still figuring herself out. Cerise, however, sees it as a fun adventure to enjoy, and not a puzzle to solve.

Teal is AMAB and uses He/Him pronouns, but everything else is… up in the air.
Figuring out who you are at 17 is hard enough, but when you’re unable to tell your feelings apart from other people’s feelings, it becomes exceptionally difficult. Empathy is a rough superpower.

Cori is nonbinary, and uses they/them, but doesn’t bother correcting people. They’re also mute, and communicate with sign language, so the correction is often more trouble than its worth. They’re very laid back, and don’t bother with labels, for the most part.

Cyan is a cis woman. She’s biromantic with a male lean, and is somewhere on the asexual spectrum.
Sexual attraction is not something she understands, but, after she’s married, enjoys the activity with her husband as a bonding experience. He’s also ace spec, so it works out.
