Hey Arch I found someone having this painting as their banner and was wondering if you recognize it, and if so what's it depicting?

I'm watching someone play the original Pokémon games translated into Irish Gaelic. Can you confirm if the Pokémon I highlighted in yellow is indeed named "Purple shit"?

One thing I dislike about this presentation is the seeming equation between "bad" and "permissive" parenting.

To some extent the latter (insofar it means not being harsly punitive and respecting of agency) is *required* for moral parenting. Is this equation a common US Christian trope?

And second looking at the bans listed in Leviticus in that little window on the second image, I like how there's exactly one fully reasonable rule there (not mistreating foreigners) amongst things ranging from excessive for laws to complete absurdities.

Two last things: Do wanna say the combination of "Hospitality to (...), gang rape and murder" are bundled together here is kinda funny. I assume there's probably more exposition in the in-peeson presentation but without context it seems like a bizarre combination.

Hey Arch, found this Christian that rather typically fell for obvious bait but that's besides the point. Looked at his bio and this line was used. Is that a Biblical or otherwise common Christian saying? If so, what's it mean?

Guess I should ask you as my de facto religion person, is it true that Christianity is somehow supposedly unique in detailing duties of humane treatment towards prisoners? Like, entirely absent in say Judaism or Islam?

Found something amusing. I doubt this has much in the way of normative implications but am more interested in the causality. This person suggests it's possibly related to "mutational load in the DNA" but couldn't the 'athropy' also be caused by holding liberal views itself?

... do you think this actually has implications for the 'classical' theory of natural selection as alleged?
