Here's our new Number Pad notation symbol set! We decided to go with a pronounced/subdued literal map translation of the #fgc Number Pad Notation system to help newer players pick it up faster through raw context. Otherwise stay tuned for our awesome short hand Number Pad symbols for YOUR combos!

Not every user will use it, but one of our favorite features we've worked on in the past week was definitely the Joystick notation "ball" color customization feature!

It's one of those features that's there for little smile moments, esp if you like to use joystick notation by default! 😍

So it took us around 2 long & tedious weeks to convert some looped data into unique data chunks with IDs.

We had only looped/duped data to give the app's combo tool buttons to work with to demo at EVO 2024.

Now we have 3,058 & counting unique per game notation symbols for the FGC to use! 🤯

We realized about a week ago... that we hadn't really accounted for the art style used in any given fighting game. So after a couple iterations, we ended up with a new grouping lens, the Rendering Style!

We're still assigning games, so this is a WiP.

In the meantime though, did we miss any?

We're buzzing to work on a final piece to complete the circle of life in a FGC player's contexts... controllers!

We're super excited to get this part done, because it opens up our ability to help players quantify and track the tool in their hands to results on the screen.

We already shared a bit about the archetypes aspect of the app, but we've recently added in a sorting UI that works in conjunction with the filter to help manage lots of page items quicker.

We also redesigned our content cards, and are psyched about the clean vibe and better text <> bg contrast.

The nostalgia got REAL when we realized we had collectively missed a beloved (but clearly lost 😆) childhood memory. That memory was the ClayFighter series.

Bonker now visits us in our dreams for payback. 🤡 😨

We have to do some data infrastructure work that will make all the data we're compiling more scalable in the future, before we can move into working on more moves for fighting game characters. 😩

Like VF5! IT'S BACK!!! 😍

But... we did finally get 2XKO fighter art and initial data seeded! 🕺

We figure the archetypes aspects of fighting games is going to be endlessly arguable.

So we're psyched to handle that inevitability by ensuring that fighters can have and share multiple/intersecting archetypes. That way players can easily focus on a fighting style across games.

Got a prototype of the tier list tool working with fighters of games. So now as we add more and more fighters for games they'll just show up in the tool as we go!

So excitement got the best of us this weekend, and we got the CR of the CRUD for fighting game player goals implemented!

Full confession, we're freaking excited about this evolve of the app. NGL It's kinda awesome to set a goal for a specific game/fighters.

This is NOT fully sorted (but some care was added to the top tier just so it isn't alphabetical), so this is more an example of concept.

We've been hammering away on the app, and while doing player research for our upcoming training/sparring tools, we realized it would be LEGIT to have a goals system to track and relate to training and playing.

This is a peek at the result of a tag fighting game match's data using our first of it's kind match records tool. In the start1up.com app, each player account can control which peers can access which records - making things ideal for pros, coaches, and orgs, too!

So that leak that's been now un-leaked prodded us to finally go ahead and get the app data in place for the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves release in April!
