I was fifteen or so, and I didn't understand enough about it to be 100% sure it was all lies, but I was at least distrustful of authority enough to assume at least some was bullshit just on principle. And I didn't want war, I knew that. I wanted to go to the protests but wasn't allowed.

I'm sorry, but unless you're putting equal or greater effort into protecting the lives of children who have actually been born, along with the adults they turn into, I find the "pro-life" argument pretty hollow, no matter what religious spin you put on it.
