The book in question
I stumbled into the Merciful Crow duology this weekend and adored it. The end is particularly satisfying to the mood of the moment.
It's got romantasy vibes, but is heavier on the world and plot than romance, and has one of the coolest magic systems. Reminds me of Mistborn and One Dark Window.

One more today. I like a lot of things about this, though I still need to work on my composition.
I wish I hadn't accidentally changed color palettes in the middle. One of the things I struggle with most with watercolors is looking at the paint on my pallet and knowing what it will look like dried.

I recently stumbled on Helen Hoang's books and was blown away. She writes romances featuring characters on the autism spectrum, immigrants, Vietnamese culture, caregiver burnout, depression, and all sorts of other stuff I didn't know I wanted in my romance until I had it.

For Christmas my son got me a tiny recycling bin for my desk to hold all my fidgets.
Then he got me a pack of new fidgets to fill it.
