It is not anti MD at all. It is pro consumer- cautionary tale. Journalism has a responsibility.
Also consumers need to have access to information to support self advocacy.
I have to tell my MDs that I can not take anything in the antihistamine family without hanging from the ceiling.

Antihistamines can have similar impact and they do not even require a prescription.
Also any drug with a “Caine” at the end- millions of people are allergic to and have sometimes catastrophic reactions to small doses. Codeine is another frequently used med that allergies are common.

this information should not be shocking -it is well known. any MD worth their salt should use prednisone cautiously and with careful tapering protocols. Many people are pushed into hypomania by this med -for those who are already wired for mood disruptions than they should not take them at all.
