I talked to Ghost people and they said they didn't think they were missing out on much not being on Substack. But yeah, ultimately it just felt too icky. Plus I LOVE the name! It just seems cooler.

Have heard so many good things about Ghost!! So far so good - my years as a blogger are feeling useful navigating this new format (which reminds me very much of that!). Thanks for sharing this too :) I already have way too much good stuff to share!

Meh, I'll teach dance if they really want to AI my job. Non-attachment + there are so many books to read sitting in piles everywhere published this year and before, I'll just do read those.

Maybe for people who work out a lot and eat out a lot? That's the only scenario I can imagine. When we lived in NYC we just had the wash and fold do the laundry, it was so cheap! And I handwashed my delicate stuff.

I no longer live there but I voted for him way back in the day when I lived in Connecticut - he worked at the state level and championed clean-air/car emissions initiatives which I reported on at the time. So I'm a LONG-time fan. He's a fantastic politician, and younger (early 50s) who just gets it.

I mean, I'm a freelance science journalist, with minimal editorial experience, who has written a book. Independent worker. Not knee-deep in how newsrooms work, etc. And even I KNOW how important standards are, why they exist. WTF this is just....she seems dumb to not get that. It's basic stuff.

I feel like he would be literally perfect for the job!!

I wish I could say I was shocked/surprised but I'm not. Incredibly frustrating.
