The evil trans person Gavin Newsom warned you about

I do mean a letter. Put pen to paper, seal it in an envelope, stamp it, and send it through the post office. E-mails are easy to ignore and abstract. A physical letter with your name and handwritten signature is more representative of a real person. Some one has to hold it in their hands and see it.

One letter sent by me won't move the needle, but what about 20 constituents writing in? 100? 1000? Even if it seems silly, write the letter and encourage people you know to write letters. This isn't the only political action you can take, but it's a great action to take this week.

In my letter, I laid out that SNAP had issues even before the shutdown, and advocated for increased state-driven CalFresh funding to meet rising grocery costs, price controls for essential goods, state-run grocery stores, and a California pet welfare program to assist struggling families with pets.

If you're in California, I would encourage you to write to Gavin Newsom as I did today. You can write about the same things I did, or you can write about things that matter more to you. What's important is that you lay out the issues you care about to the people in charge of your community.

Tonight shows that if we rally behind the things we want, good things can happen. Now is the time to lay out exactly what you want. Starting local is great because you can focus on improving conditions in your city/state rather than trying to take on the whole country's problems.

I want to encourage this week, a writing exercise. Find your governor/mayor and channel your positive thoughts into a letter.

"I am excited by the political wins of [candidate/ballot measure]. Victories like these give me hope. As I consituent, I want you to advance [issue you care about]."

Mayor Mamdani, please do everything in your power to keep your promises. I've wanted to live in NYC nearly my whole life. So I need you to keep your promises so that when my teaching commitments are done in my home state, I can finally be a teacher in the greatest city in the world.

It's actually Siiwa and the news media changes which "i" gets capitalized just to fuck with us.

Identifying Star here (in more ways than one)

I can confirm that is indeed your guy.

I have a Series X that I won in a raffle in 2020. Sometimes I play Daytona or watch a Blu-Ray on it. If I weren't dirt poor right now, I probably still wouldn't be buying new games for it because [gestures vaguely at everything Microsoft has done for the past 3 years]

Some will posit he does not know the ending of that particular book. I would counter that he does, via Leonardo DiCaprio, and simply believes himself untouchable.

Sadly, I think we're going to see an influx of maga learning the phrase "correlation does not equal causation" from RFK Jr.

No, OC is a fandom thing. It's an original character made in the context of an existing franchise. Greg the Hedgehog is a Sonic OC, but if you just make up a guy named Clarence and tell your own story about him, that's just your character. I hate that the internet flattened this term.

Y'know, that's on me. I should've read it.

This is not the only lever of power we have, but it is one we should still utilize. Keep calling and writing to reps about things that matter.

I wrote him a letter, a real, physical letter, detailing why I thought the bills were important and the kind of message it would send if he didn't sign them. Did he read it? Probably not, but someone on his staff certainly did and marked it down as another call/letter expressing support.

My money is on "everything's expensive now" as one of the factors. Costumes were always my favorite part of Halloween, so being in survival mode for several years and not being able to afford even a closet cosplay kinda dulls the jack-o-lantern.

Sounds like someone needs to google "Jared Leto 17"
