Just a rambling post about some of my personal #hEDS experiences as a #TwitchStreamer
Just a reminder that everyone’s experiences are different and nobody’s experience is more or less valid than anyone else’s.

I want people to understand where I’m coming from. TW: Discussion of pain. Ideally, I want to stream today. Realistically, I am struggling to stay sitting up for more than 10 minutes at a time. Why? My spine is in so much agony that sitting up feels like each vertebrae is being individually set on fire. My hips sting and then go completely numb. My migraine, which is resisting the pain meds I’ve taken, is causing me to be dizzy AF. Even if I COULD sit up for long: My thumb has been partially dislocated for days and refuses to cooperate in putting it back in place. The arthritis in my hands is making it painful to use my mouse/keyboard.” White text on black background “My shoulder blades are on fire (which could be from partial dislocations there, unclear). My sides are in so much pain that anything other than a shallow breath feels like a dagger driven into and across each individual rib. My fatigue is already making me decide if I should take a nap and it’s not quite 11AM yet. When I say that streaming depends on my health, this is what I mean. THIS is what I have to work around. I have to decide if the pain in my shoulders and hands is going to be tolerable enough to get at least 2 hours of gaming. I have to determine if I can even SIT for 2 hours of gaming. If I CAN do a stream, I have to determine if my pain is settled enough that I won’t be a total asshole on stream because, while it’s no excuse for being a jerk, my pain makes me a jerk sometimes. So I have to determine if I’m in a place where I can catch myself about to say something rude BEFORE I say it.” White text on black background “Sometimes, I get as far as having all my software open and about to hit the button to go live just to determine that I can’t do it. I’m not trying to make excuses for myself, nor am I trying to get pity points. I suppose I just felt the need to share some of my struggles with consistent schedules for stream. Even though we haven’t been able to stream due to the heat and being busy, we’ve reached double digits followers! It may seem like a small accomplishment to some, but I’m so proud of us!

I look forward to getting back to streaming soon.
