They make stuff up, so you can't rely on them without critical thought, but they're marketed as the opposite of that. Like you can use them if you understand you're talking to a lossy compression of the Internet that gleefully "lies", but that's so hard when it's talking to you like a human.

IMO they should just give up on pursuing AI. Not that Apple has been perfect in any way lately, but pursuing that ideal is still laudable.

AI making mistakes is fundamental to how it works, and I think that’s just fundamentally incompatible with good design and the Apple ethos.
