Thank you for your kind words of encouragement! As someone who struggled for years it means a lot! 😊

For me it's not so much the cringe part. I embrace the cringe side of myself. It's the people who for whatever reason think we "use litter boxes" "bark at people" and are "attracted to animals" because they're ignorant and believe everything that the people trying to ostracize us say about us 😟

I guess it's just due to the stigma that tends to get brought up by normies any time the word is even so much as mentioned. I worry about how people will perceive me sometimes, even if I'm not one of "those" types of furries who dabble more in the 18+ side of things.(No hate to those who do though)

It just feels like a community where I can feel safe being LGBTQ+ and be accepted for who I am without fear of being judged for being neurodivergent.

For the record, I am strictly in the SFW half of the community. To me, being a furry is more about being interested in the fun, colorful, cute animal designs, dancing around in a cute fursuit, and interacting and being wholesome/making friends.

It's always been something that looked fun to me.
