C) Remember the leaked concept art? A good chunk featured characters not mentioned yesterday. Marvel is very good about controlling leaks...when they want to be. Sure they could all be scrapped scenes. But we've already been told through other projects these characters are returning.

At the end of the day, Marvel is a business and they want to maximize profits by appealing to as wide an audience as possible. And that's okay because those profits help make the movies that do tell the diverse stories.

B) Those of us who care abt representation were not the target of this announcement. They were trying to reach the bro dude incels who moaned "Marvel is dead" after She-Hulk, The Marvels, etc. They aren't going to get those guys hyped for this movie by announcing characters they vocally hate.

A) They aren't going to tell us the whole cast before the movie comes out. SOMETHING has to be a surprise. This really speaks to the unsettling lack of media literacy that is so prevalent today. They shouldn't have to spoon-feed us everything.

1) Making us watch the backs of chairs for 5 hours is absolutely unhinged behavior. I love it. A good pop culture marketing campaign needs to be a little unhinged. Not Quizno's rat commercial level, just slightly off kilter.
