Artist and leftist. Just now starting to take commissions, haven't figured out prices and payment yet but feel free to send me offers and I'll figure something out.
This calls into question her motives for joining the "justice league".

We probably need to start using "artificial general intelligence", or whatever other term people prefer, to refer to the type of scifi machines that can truly think and learn like a human. Because the conflation of our real LLMs with these fictional machines is literally the entirety of AI marketing

Pretty sure translate is just referencing dictionaries, dictionaries that are written by humans.

He thinks that the MAGA movement is because we let foreigners have too much influence, I don't think understanding anything was ever on the table.

Him and Zoro are long lost brothers.

Not long lost as in they don't know, long lost as in they've been lost for a very long time.

Don't give him that much credit, he has the money because his parents had money. He made more when the people who ACTUALLY invented pay-pal got him to fund their startup.

Left to his own devices he has never done anything but lose money.

From every perspective, both ethical and practical, there is everything wrong with AI.

I keep seeing one that starts with "If your watch knows when it's charged, shouldn't it know when you're charged to?"

No. No it shouldn't.

I'm gonna guess you don't feel bad for very many things you've done in general.

Absolutely the US was on the nobler side of WWII, I just don't think that necessarily means that they were "good guys" exactly. Maybe Eisenhower was, but Patton and MacArthur were simply monsters, and being pointed at other monsters doesn't change that. If it did then Stalin is a good guy too.

Yea, he'd never be anywhere as nice as a regular fire and brimstone hell. I assume he's in like, a dimension made of suffering or something
November 21, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Wow, now that I know Dwight D. Eisenhower was a cool guy, that completely assuages all my concerns about the US military's extensive history of war crimes and human rights violations.

Ferdinand Porsche might've designed some stupid things, but at least he also designed some good ones. And even for the stupid ones, at least he actually designed them and didn't just take credit.

Name a more iconic duo: Fascists and hilariously overweight vehicles that don't work and wouldn't be useful even if they did.

"Sorry I shot all those children, but, you know, we can't have every soldier questioning orders. That wouldn't be effecient in serious conditions!"
November 20, 2025 at 11:05 PM
I don't see any reason to assume its any different. With the way the reputation of the US military with anyone remotely progressive has been plummeting for decades, its probably worse if anything. They've followed a lot of illegal orders already, given the chance, they'll probably follow more.
November 20, 2025 at 5:51 PM
What it is is a revisionist denial of all the times US soldiers have been ordered to commit atrocities and done exactly that. It is not "ingrained into them", it is at best a vague suggestion that they might follow if they feel like it. The US military is not and has never been a noble institution
November 20, 2025 at 5:44 PM
The US gained its land from a series of brutal conflicts with indigenous peoples. Soon after came the world wars. After that, we had the many proxy conflicts of the cold war. And then, almost as soon as that's over, we have the unending "war on terror". If there isn't a war, the US makes one.
November 20, 2025 at 5:20 PM
Not sure I like the implication that the US military doesn't have an extremely extensive record of absolutely following unlawful orders.

I cannot even describe how much I wish people who refuse to think would just cease to exist.

I would rather die than live one day in a world where I truly believed that we'd all die on this speck amidst infinity, only ever viewing the rest of the universe through fuzzy lenses and false-color microwave images, and being erased totally when our sun finally turns on us.
