Very, very WIP.
She rolled her neck and shoulders, trying to ease the tension from muscles that had been braced since landing earlier that morning. Jacqueline took a long, controlled drink. The freshness of the botanicals and the sting of the gin gave her system enough of a jolt to make it through the rest of the day. Only then did she allow herself to relax. She leaned back, crossed her legs under the table, and tapped her foot almost imperceptibly along with the song playing from the jukebox. The foot tap was the compromise she made to avoid singing along to the chorus of “Sweet Caroline”—not that anyone would notice if she joined in with them.

I think I might be in Paris.” Julie’s eyes went wide. “Wait, really?” Izzy rolled her eyes. “No, not really, Weirdo. We’re high school students. Our schedules are pretty much: go to school, go home, half-ass our homework, rinse and repeat.” She arched her brow. “Why?” “Because we have a gig.” Julie’s grin was wide. “A real one.”

I’ll watch you bang things with sticks and play angry music from last decade, and then we’ll go out and grab something to drink like the functional drunks we aspire to be.” ‘“Bang things with sticks?’ Is that all my four-year music degree is reduced to? I would hope I exude a little more finesse than that.” Alexis grinned widely. “What do you do with a drummer at your door?” Izzy groaned. “You pay them for the pizza,” she replied deadpan. Alexis pouted. “Aww, you heard that one?” “Alexis, I’m a drummer. I’ve heard all of them.” She raises a brow at the blond woman, who was looking increasingly aggravated. “Why did the drummer stare at the frozen juice can?” she asked, scarcely concealing the chuckle. Izzy sighed. Her lips twitched at the corners ever so slightly. “Because it said ‘concentrate.’ Did you, like, spend the whole night looking up drummer jokes?” “Maybe.” She speared a tomato on her plate. “And if you don’t agree to hang out with me tonight, I’m going to keep going. Besides, a little birdy told me it’s your birthday this weekend.” “That little birdy doesn’t, by chance, have a radioactive smile and a head tilt problem?” Izzy asked. “No.” Alexis grinned. “But apropos of nothing, your driver’s licence photo is super cute.” Izzy’s jaw dropped. “Oh relax, Brewer. I peeked once when you weren’t looking.” She chuckled. “Now what do you say? Come out with me?” “All right, fine,” Izzy said. Then gave an impish smile. “What’s the difference between a drummer and a toilet?” Alexis’s eyes widened with a laugh. “Oh god, I don’t know.” “A toilet only has to take shit from one asshole at a time.”

Hamilton's got that beat for sure! When I was living there, I could walk in any direction and hit a Tim Hortons in 5 minutes.

The wife & I decided to get into the holiday spirit & make some gingerbread cookies. We quickly ran out of xmas themed shapes to make, & it quickly turned into an episode of Bevis and Butthead, if Bevis and Butthead were two 40+ year old women decorating cookies while listening to 90s alt rock
