extrinsic and intrinsic motivation isnt a binary its not even really a spectrum its just 2 things that both exist at once
if someone walks away thinking they had a good time and theyd like to do that again it literally couldnt matter less to me why they were motivated to do it

to be a little presumptuous im gonna say literally no human on this planet is solely intrinsicly motivated and vice versa
like if a game is actively predatory and unfun then like yeah dont play it but avoiding the very idea of extrinsic motivation is incredibly unserious to me

i think so because even if the minutes themselves don't matter gameplay wise, they still matter as a way to tell how much time you have until the hour crosses over which is useful for planning what to do next
