[dks] [rewatch] i still really love the ranma remake, and pretty good timing on wrapping it up now with season 2 recently starting. i'm sure i've mentioned it in this thread somewhere before but we're definitely in a great time that all of these classic anime are getting excellent remakes like this.

two things i follow wrapped up on sunday, the first being sirens won't sing for you which was a cute story about a siren trying to suppress the urge to eat her crush while the two of them sort out situations between humans and monsters. fun little 30ish chapter read. would have liked much more.

[dks] we have finished black lagoon's anime entirely now with roberta's blood trail. the first two episodes i wasn't sure how much i was feeling but but three onwards it locks in hard, and overall i think it's a great way to wrap up the show. but if they never get back to it i'll never forgive them!

astro baby just finished up also and i'm gonna miss it. a military man returns to his hometown that's been sealed off from the world in order to save his childhood sweetheart, ends up on the run with an alien baby. never reaches the insane heights it could have but an absolute trip none the less.

ekiden bros also one of the three to get u19'd from the most recent jump batch and i think everyone agreed it was inevitable from announcement. it was fine, just never stood out in the same way the other three did. but it wasn't bad and even had highlights as it went on despite being clearly fucked.

kaedegami got u19'd and i feel so bad for it. take dororo except it's a demon trying to get her body back and it's not clear on if she should be allowed to, and a guy completely insane for her. big potential, just got unlucky that it was an exorcist story when jump has three including jjk returning.

[dks] [rewatch] didn't expect to revisit it so soon but the wheel gets its show, got more positive feelings about it than i did going out of it the first time around, but yeah it's still a 50 episode masterpiece stuck in a 13 episode package. i really can't wait to see what the team does with chojo.

[dks] beck i knew about for years but never got round to so i’m glad to have finally fixed that on technically my pick. really enjoyed overall, sometimes it went completely crazy. the ending was a little awkward but it convinced me i should read the rest of it. will miss doing op karaoke every week.

Ten-ish minutes each shorts really wasn’t long enough, but they looked amazing and the dub getting everyone back was an amazing achievement (even if only Hiei could really still do his voice). [dks] first season of wind breaker down tonight also. a The Boys Are Back In Town type show. feels mean to say there's nothing here except basic character tropes and fight scenes because the characters are still all charming/funny and the fight scenes are fucking AWESOME. just don't expect more

[dks] the golden seal was just a bonus episode of early yu yu hakusho and a good one at that. good fight, funny moments, can't ask for more. we're not doing poltergeist report due to it having a different dub so just the final OVAs to go and we're fully wrapped up. i love this fucking series.

[dks] god speaking of "like visiting an old friend" except this was an entirely new show and not just me rewatching a classic. loved every minute. may be even better than nichijou? didn't think it would but it's a modern day william tell. type of show where even if you aren't laughing you're smiling

[dks] we finished up the 1st stage of initial d! it's something i'd always wanted to check out so i'm glad clock picked it. the animation has aged for sure but those races will absolutely get you pumped up, especially with what might be the best soundtrack of all time. hopefully we do 2nd stage soon

Yattara wrapped up today with 25 chapters and I really enjoyed it, more the first half than the second but it stuck the landing so still good. A demon that only exists to feast on humans finds three orphaned children and in an impromptu decision decides it's going to raise them until they're tastier

completely feels like it should have probably been a tv show instead but i'm glad that something new and original came out and it was good, people actually watched it and it's done well enough to get more stuff confirmed, which for some reason is something that isn't a guarantee nowadays anymore

it was more kaiju no 8 and for the most part it was honestly still great, it took the world by storm last year for a reason. but things felt off here at times and ending the season in the spot they did with no season 3 announcement yet was Brave.

turkey! was honestly not good but I liked it anyway (when it starts focusing on side characters in the middle it gets better) and I cried over a 7/10 split so I’ll give it that score
