Hopefully good-weird! I’ve always been impressed by the people who can beat Halo 2 Legendary with the Skulls and such; my partner and I were struggling with H2 Heroic on co-op, lol.

I also didn’t feel like Cortana wanting to control the galaxy through subjugation was that out of character for her. She and Chief (and the other Spartan IIs) were designed to be weapons, and suffered because of it in different ways. It makes sense that she’d try to end suffering through force.

I’d argue that it actually makes it more tragic, and Chief’s sense of resignation when he talks directly to her in the last of his levels speaks volumes. Cortana thinks the situation is fixed from her POV, but Chief has to lose her once again, and has to be the one to make the choice this time.

Better feeling weapons that 4, but rather redundant and repetitive levels and a rather empty plot that Infinite seems to handwave away. I liked the concept of helping Arbiter liberate his homeworld, though. I wish Chief had been the one to do it.

the popularity of 80+ hour video games and docuseries-length youtube videos is also an indicator to me that our attention spans are probably, on the whole, fine, the problem is what is asking for our attention and how/if we can manage that imo 🫠

this is anecdotal and skewed by adolescent onset of more severe ADHD symptoms, but back when i was better at reading a whole book, i also did not have nearly as many things vying for my attention at any moment, nor did i live in a world where a lot of people expect you to answer texts immediately
