Langa's answer comes with ease, like he's telling the truth. Reki spots a smile in his eyes. By no means is Langa a good liar, so it leaves Reki wondering. The two of them stowed away a pair of leather skating shoes that Reki had been eyeing all month. Reki practically vibrates with excitement before snatching Langa into a crushing side hug. He stares down at the open cardboard box, taking in the contrast of crisp, clean white against their pop of color. "I wanted to make sure we had some in your size," Langa squeaks, his voice strained from how tightly Reki holds him. "Did you look inside?" "No. Is there something else?" The white tissue papers crinkle as Reki digs around in the box and plucks out a small bundle. It's a pair of shoelaces in a matching vivid hue-and their unique packaging makes it clear that they didn't come with the shoes. Reki recognizes them as the laces designed to be practically indestructible to skateboarding. Dope Sketch had been selling them for a while, but he'd never thought about picking up a pair for himself! Reki cackles. "Oh, that's so sick!" "I got to use my employee discount," Langa brags, like a dork.

Langa's long legs are stretched out, so it only seems sound to curl up at the foot of the bed. Two gentle hands guide Reki to rest his head in Langa's lap. His eyelids fall shut once more as Langa caresses his face, stroking the back of his index finger over his cheek. When that soft touch slows to a stop, Reki nudges Langa's side automatically. It doesn't even occur to him that it's a needy thing to do until he's already done it—but the wordless way in which Langa resumes is like a balm that soothes any stray worries still lingering in his mind. And if it's okay to be needy, then… maybe it's okay to ask Langa to fill the silence, too. Reki uses that same hand to paw at Langa's side to get his attention. "Langa," he whispers. "Can you… I want you to say nice things to me." Langa's handsome face tilts down into view, and his caress lags behind again. "Like what, my love?" Though there are many things would probably stoke the flames of his desire, there's one that truly stands out. Reki's heart skips a beat as it passes his lips for the first time.
