Very very true!! As I practice this game more and more I start revisiting gameplay videos I saw as totally out of reach in the beginning, unable to appreciate the technique for a variety of reasons, and going "holy shit I see what they're doing now, that's somehow even more impressive"

I guess it reaches a point where they don't even know what they're looking at and it loops back around to "this game must be easier than it seems because that's physically impossible right"vwhich is an extremely fair thought to have when you don't play at all

I could've been born without this thing yknow. I think I woulda lived. I don't want it. No really I insist take it back I don't need it

I don't know dude. A lot of people fucking hate art that clearly has no thought put into it even if a person *did* make it (cynical shitty artists like Thomas Kinkade, mass produced superhero movies etc) so I think it's fair to hate ai art for the same reason.

Basically I need people to start caring a little more about the people who make what they love, the parts of life that matter, but historically that is an uphill battle because everyone is burned out and starved of enjoyment

There's an argument to be made that if you liked it initially, derived some enjoyment or intrigue from it, then it's just as valuable as a real work. But true evaluation of a piece of media necessitates revisitation, context, spending more than the seconds it takes to feel a dopamine hit with it

It's the difference between people who care and people who just don't. Unfortunately there is a tremendous market where people who don't care what they see are concerned and we all have to suffer because of it. You can call it pretentious if you want, but it's true

Why did I like this funny cat video before I learned it was ai? Because I thought a real cat did something absurd and unique. Now I know a computer just approximated cat behavior, and that cat isn't alive and didn't do anything charming.
