The vast majority of people don’t think about in terms of political ideology in their daily lives.

Nonsense. Social media is mostly a mirror. It reflects what humanity is and how humanity behaves. For better and for worse.
Furthermore: keep in mind the different social medias and the absence of subsets of humanity in each type.
