Exactly, it was too late in the day for Palace to get a replacement. Should have been done earlier, but that would have taken a bigger fee.

If Liverpool had put an acceptable offer on the table sooner it would have been accepted and followed through.

Hypocrisy, had Liverpool moved for Guehi earlier in the window and not tried to low ball on the last day of the window, Liverpool would have their man and Guehi wouldn't have to return to Palace with his tail between his legs.
