There is a very good book by Scott Davison, On the intrinsic value of everything, which - among other things - argues that intrinsic value of beings is independent of whether theism is true.

I just bought the Polish translation today! It will help me prepare for my lectures on the mind-body problem!

This is very true. That's why the classical theists' solution to the problem of evil (e.g. Davies, Feser) strikes me as inadequate. What they mean when they say that God is good is incompatible with the way most believers think about it.

Are you familiar with a new book "Wonderstruck. How Awe and Wonder Shape the Way We Think" by Helen De Cruz? She is a cognitive scientist of religion and philosopher.

How does Swinburne define perfect freedom?

Perhaps something about Aquinas and teleological accounts of morality? They are quite popular among Thomists etc.
