The IRS has digital and paper paths to the same record for you. It could take months or days for information to get reconciled. Your on-time payment might be flagged late, triggering interest and penalties, scary letters. They’ll eventually catch their mistake and refund you. But oof.

50% of the time Claude just makes the thing I asked and I’m astonished. The other 50% it waits 2 minutes then burns thousands of tokens asking me if it should run the sed command until failing to make something that works
