Oh God, yeah. Don't get me started on that. Subscription based culture is a disease. And with companies removing our options to actually OWN stuff (like video game physical copies just being digital downloads in disguise) it feels so hopeless.

This is a trend that gets talked about on the BuyItForLife subreddit a lot. Basically no modern brands are BIFL anymore, and brands that have been reliable and BIFL for decades are now cheap, unreliable crap. Capitalism hates its consumers.
