Life is a gamble at terrible odds. If it was bet, you would never take it.

Right, I'll have a monkey on that....
It would be really helpful to have a faux outrage calendar so we could know what made up twaddle that the usual offenders will be outraged about.

November 25th Cancelled Christmas Day, October 31st Newscaster didn't wear Poppy day etc.....
November 18, 2025 at 6:36 PM
Every "they are cancelling Christmas" report makes my heart skip a beat with joy (of the completely none festive variety of course)

Yet here it is still doing the hackneyed rounds in *checks calendar bloody NOVEMBER bah humbug.

She is politically dead.

The tone of the questions from her own benches and this mischief making "praise" from the opposition. Tells its own story.
November 17, 2025 at 7:36 PM
To talk tough and retreat is the worst of all possible outcomes politically.

The reputational damage is greater than any gain.

It has blown up any trust that their progressive base has in this government. They will bleed support on the left at the locals in May.
November 17, 2025 at 9:06 AM
Yes, Labour needs to lose to shock it out of this right ward drift. However there is no way of constructing that outcome by design even with a coordinated tactical voting campaign.

It is in the lap of the electoral gods.
November 17, 2025 at 12:10 AM
Yes Reform & Tories at this point are objectively worse. Happily the local electoral maths would not present me with that particular choice.
November 17, 2025 at 12:04 AM
Okay I didn't start with any great expectations of this Labour Government but this is a new low.

The question for the next election is would I vote for Labour tactically to keep Reform or the Tories out? On the basis of this policy I could hardly see the point.
November 16, 2025 at 7:44 PM
And the saddest thing about this is the futility of it all. There will never be enough concessions to placate those who can't be placated.

Why can't they be placated? Because they always need a scapegoat to blame for their own failings.
November 15, 2025 at 10:37 AM
Is this the Judeahan Popular Front or the Popular Front for Judeah I forget.

If there is a constituency for a left wing alternative, it is not well served by this omnishambles.

I have so many questions.

Why are cows particularly empathetic to one race?

What is their position on veganism?

Are they comfortable with their position in agribusiness?

Do they have any other cowcentric views on the major issues of the day?

I await further updates from the planet X.
November 13, 2025 at 2:50 PM
Given that Liz Truss is wrong about everything, I look forward to seeing X consigned to the dustbin of history, and the BBC revived and restored.
November 13, 2025 at 2:22 PM
Graphical evidence of what everyone knows. Given Musks' well documented support for the far right, this no surprise.

A similar exercise for Meta might be more revealing.
November 6, 2025 at 7:35 AM
In Goodwin's world, if either of the accused has a Great Great Parent who was an immigrant, that would would justify his comments

That is how deeply racist and unhinged the man is.
November 2, 2025 at 2:09 PM
The rules and traditions of Parliament are arcane but they are predicated on the "decent fellows acting reasonably"

It is underpinned by the assumption of decency and honesty.

Johnson blew it up and the day Farage took his seat was the absolute death knell.

Lies are lies racism is racism
October 29, 2025 at 1:12 PM
It was never about immigration it was always about race disguised as a discussion about immigration. To think anything else is wishful thinking.

It was self evident from the Brexit vote onwards.
October 27, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Unbelievable, not only profoundly racist but petty and spiteful into the bargain.

The sad thing is that I am not surprised by this.

I will watch to see if there is any pushback from anybody on the right.
October 25, 2025 at 6:58 PM
I think there should be clarification from the whips office if the complaints were that the proposals were too extreme or that they didn't go far enough.

These days is better to check rather than assume
October 23, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Well, as a snapshot of what might happen. I work in the hospitality sector. At a very rough estimate, this would wipe out 25% of my establishment's workforce overnight.

And that is devastating economically. Brexit on steriods.

An act of self-harm. Racist maybe stupid, definitely.
October 23, 2025 at 12:50 PM
Moving swiftly on from these unpleasant thoughts and let us not concern ourselves with the distress that this would cause to other people.

And assuming that it was practically possible to round up millions of our neighbors and forcibly deport them, then what?
October 23, 2025 at 11:36 AM
To try to move to this, never never land of social cohesion. Firstly, the country has to leave the ECHR, and the Human Rights Act has to be repealed.

Good, you say, but do remember a radicalized counter revolution might come for you in revenge mode. It's not so good then.
October 23, 2025 at 11:27 AM
Good point, the Tories are in effect a pound shop BNP.
October 22, 2025 at 7:01 PM
And broadly in line with BNP policy.

I am old enough to remember when that would have been considered extreme.
October 22, 2025 at 6:35 PM
It is not complacency least ways on my part. Any possibility that the Tories might be a Centre Right bulwark has gone.

The debate has moved to are the Tories Reform lite or are Reform Tories Lite?

Is a Zebra white with black stripes or black with white stripes?

Either way ugly racism.
