I worry about losing the ability to run too. I had a knee injury that made it impossible to run for a few years when I was in my 50s and it was very unpleasant. I also had to quit for a month or two after cataract surgery, but I managed to walk regularly then.

I don't mind the cold weather running, but when it rains on snow I get ice water on my feet. If it persists I will search for the waterproof socks that I bought last spring.

We have the same problem. Interest rates keep dropping ant the market appears to be a tissue of over inflated fabrications. Sigh.

I love the attitude towards "freedom" expressed in the show: I only want to meet with the English speaking people. She killed 11 million people with a tantrum.

Hard to tell what is culturally appropriate? When did ripped jeans or ballet tights become appropriate for public wear? What of our beloved saint Lebowski and his emulation of "Plump, stately, Buck Mulligan"? Rest your mind, literature has its way of inviting explanations. <grin>

I had a discussion with the editor of an article I published a long time ago about immured and inured. I wanted to say that the person in question was trapped by his father's world view & the editor thought that I meant that he was accustomed to his father's ideas. Perhaps this is somewhat similar?

We had a similar problem and I had to get traps too. I am a vegetarian and refrain from killing anything if at all possible, but mice are a health hazard (hantavirus etc.) & I don't want to risk my family and pets.

I had a bad habit of forgetting one or more of the numerous statutory holidays when composing my syllabi. I blame it on excessive religion among the bureaucracy.

I did not know that there was a regex generator. I suppose that I can now throw away several of my O'Reilly quick reference sheets and never write another Perl script. Oh wait, it's Python now; whatever. I simply must accept that AI has taken over my last useful function in life. <sardonic smile>

One of the first courses I had to do in my PhD was taught by a university librarian. It was invaluable for research skills in a card catalogue world & we spent a few weeks learning how to use the Union Catalogue (physical version). Everyone appreciated the course.
