Well. I think other mediums offer a greater sense of verisimilitude, but this one is more hands-on and involved; there's a shared agency or a more convincing illusion of it.

Yeah, we clearly need to catch up!! Also, you know what's unhinged? Video game sadness. I thought I liked to dwell in sad dad rock & music for depressives, but then I found out video games can ruin your life in the first half hour of playtime!

Added a week on The Last of Us in my Monsters + Monstrosity class. We have a Critical Games Studies program & a lab w/a great setup at UNC. A grad student well versed in the game gave a guest talk on it and the show and a fascinating chapter ("Mycelial Minds") from Merlin Sheldrake's book on fungi.

It's part of a unit on narrative and temporality/where did my three-day weekend go
