Certainly I don't drybrush space marines, but that might be a skill issue (I'd perhaps do a better job now than last time I tried).
Tangential: I got a good look at the original RTB01 box photo marines in the summer (at Wargames Foundry near Newark), they were _definitely_ drybrushed!

Not finished, but painted enough to put on the table last night.
I'm not sure if the melta gun guy will balance on anything but the flattest surface...

He'll be table-ready-ish at least by tomorrow.
I was trying to get away from the classic "power glove too heavy" look. Ideally there would be more of an angle in the right elbow but I wasn't going to try and mod that.

You're probably right on the Humbrol. The odd thing is that Dettol seemed to strip it to a degree, and those that I've overpainted with acrylic seem to strip completely in Dettol.
The blue ones originally belonged to my school friend Greg, but I also aquired some cream sprues in the distant past.

I don't think asbestos was put in, its just that talc is mined and might be contaminated (both form under similar conditions).
I think that the fault was in not warning about the danger once it was understood.

Third edition WFB had this as Steal, renamed in Warhammer Armies to Parasitic Blade (and points cost reduced from 25 to 10!). Lasted for the remainder of the game.
Second ed. had Strength/Toughness/Initiative Drain weapon abilities, these only lasted for the following turn
