And oh man, the abominations on that #LiveMemory hashtag are awful. Is this what people want out of genealogy? Fictional phantasms of their deceased relatives being puppeted around badly by an AI? How does this honor anyone's memory?

I believe it is! And yeah, he'd had a wife and four kids, with the oldest only about twelve years old.

This is my great-granduncle & one of the saddest (and stupidest!) deaths I've run across in my research. He'd evidently done it many times before but after suffering an initial shock stepping into the water, he pulled himself on to the raft and directly touched the wire they were using. #genealogy

Hard to imagine being able to call Chicago long distance was ever that big a selling point for Oklahoma City. 🤷‍♂️

Also, to put the pricing into context, a three-minute long distance call from Oklahoma City to Tulsa after 8:30pm (when it was discounted) was $0.35 then, which would be about $8.07 now.
