Find someone who knows what they're talking about to walk you through that decision first. It's far more nuanced than people think. There's the safety of course, but also all the different fees and regulations and waiting periods and laws that need to be adhered to. It's both expensive and costly.

Dude, that's seriously something to think about. Months ago somebody posted here a video supposedly showing how he and a group triumphantly chased off ICE. However, it wasn't ICE so basically a gang chased off some random dude. Meanwhile people want us to open fire on ICE and wonder why we don't.

Seems about right. ICE and the cops are killing people, civilians are staying prepared, cautious yet aware and refraining from starting an all-out war by looking for a fight while knowing they can defend themselves if necessary.

Most gun owners are. I've never met anyone clamoring to arm mentally ill homicidal maniacs, but some people would have you think it's common. My position has always been that the government takes away enough of our rights as it is; there's no reason to give any of 'em away or force others to do so.
