Exactly! I feel like sometimes traditional newspapers drop stars when something is just pure good fun, and isn’t groundbreaking. And don’t get me wrong, I love a bold choice in a production, but not everything needs to be Sunset Boulevard. 😂

I was just saying the same thing! It looks like there’s a bit of a divide between traditional papers & bloggers. I think traditional papers need something more groundbreaking nowadays (eg Sunset Boulevard, Oklahoma etc). Whereas I think bloggers are still happy with something fun & silly!

I’m glad to hear it! It’s not the most “groundbreaking” show I’ve ever seen. But it was so much fun! And I think it was very true to the film/book.

Same! I think sometimes the papers look down on stuff like this, as it’s seen as a bit “low brow”? Whereas I love stuff like this - a bit silly, iconic lines, and fun songs - what’s not to love!?

He’s brilliant! Highly recommend the album Schwartz Songs if you haven’t heard it already. Phenomenal version of Defying Gravity, and loads of really great versions of some of his best stuff!
