Stage IV survivor of pancreatic cancer diagnosed in June 2012. Underwent Whipple procedure with portal vein resection followed by aggressive chemotherapy and the first US patient enrolled in the PARP-1 inhibitor trial RucaPANC at Penn Medicine.
I’m with you Dr.Olive. I have been active on social media sites making patients/caregivers aware the current action impacting clinical research. It impacts everyone and government advocacy is needed now. I contacted members of Congress through the advocacy campaign on #PanCAN.org site & on my own.

I’ve always been a firm
believer in being proactive. Rather than wait for onset of side effects, I took anti-diarrheal and anti-emetic medications proactively to prevent symptoms leading to a better patient experience during chemo and improved quality of life.

Now 12.5 years after a diagnosis of stage IV and the longest pancreatic cancer patient on the PARP inhibitor Rubraca for my (g)BRCA 2 mutation at 10 years 2 months.
