One reason why I was excited to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Arcturus expedition by joining the livestream at @wcs.org's CPZ of the NOAA research cruise in #HudsonCanyon with contemporary artists is because 25 years ago I was on a deep sea expedition in #PNG with my own box of watercolors

HE Rodrigo Chaves Robles, President of the Republic of Costa Rica: “Vision without action is just a hallucination” #UNOC3 #WorldOceanDay
June 8, 2025 at 10:58 AM
On #WorldOceanDay, sitting at #UNOC3, I would like to see countries, the private sector and civil society make good on their pledges for BOTH climate and oceans. We need climate action to keep the world within 1.5 degree warming or face peril for our planet

UN Special Envoy for the Ocean, Peter Thomson: SDG 14 would not exist without the strong push from Pacific SIDS
June 8, 2025 at 5:48 AM
Coral Pasisi: The climate crisis is not going away. We don’t need small 3, 5 year project based funds. Pacific SIDS need big long-term programmatic funds so we can appropriately plan and react. #BEFF #UNOC3

Congratulations to my former PhD student on a stellar publication in Nature Scientific Reports investigating drivers of Porites coral growth rates in Fiji. Findings indicate the existence of compounding effects between water quality and thermal stress. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
